Well, isn’t pre-posting the best thing ever ? When you’ll read this page, I’ll probably be on the plane that’s taking me to Brussels where I’ll spend a couple of months. Nothing really exciting… I mean… it’s only the capital of fries, chocolate and bandes-dessinées !!

Anyway, the new character is here – her name (and eyes) is revealed on the next page !

So, September, eh ? How did your Labor Day go ? Me ? Well, I spent it doing this mother-freaking page, that’s what I did !! Just kidding (only half the day). Anyway, the new character (more or less) appears on the next page, be there !!

Finally, the Bruise is back !! It had been a while since the last time I drew him… But he is on almost every page coming, so I won’t miss drawing him much I guess ! Stay tuned, the following pages are action-filled, and a new character may or may not show up…

August 29th,  2011 | HOW TO OVERCOME A PHYSICAL IMPOSSIBILITY WITH A POPULAR STORYTELLING DEVICE

I like this page ; because we once again get to see the character as something else than just comic relief. The third panel made me laugh because, long after I drew it, I realized anyone would be stuck in this position because, even though Yogi’s right leg is above the beam, how is he supposed to put his leg back on the floor without touching the beam ? But, thanks to the magic of ellipsis, the problem is easily overcome. Also, I liked drawing the paintings in the first panel, even if it took me quite some time.

Let’s not even comment on how long it’s been since the last page… Right now I’m very focused on my comics and art, and re-reading the previous pages of Bruise and the readers reaction (on the French version, as there ain’t many that comment on this version – but big thanks to those who do !), I decided to at least finish this chapter. So here it comes !

As for the page itself, I do love that we get to see Yogi Laroche as something else than an idiot wannabe womanizer ; after all, the guy’s a super-thief !! He almost deserves a spin-off ( but let’s not count our chickens before they have hatched :p).

April24th,  2011 | HOW TO MAKE A GOOD THING OUT OF LAZINESS

Yes, I decided not to color this page. I don’t think colors would have had anything really, especially as the shadowy-guy trick works better in a black and white environment. That, of course, doesn’t mean that I’m going to stop coloring the pages – I like how they end up too much to do so. On another note, every French-speaking reader, go check my new webcomics, Trout & Salmon, that I co-created with comics-genius Elosterv ! A new to-be-continued comedy about two colleagues…

UPDATE  (2011 AUG 25) Finally colored the page !! This episode has a real “night” feeling behind it – especially with the prologue and the scene that follows this page…

So that’s that. Will is pissed because her biological father doesn’t seem to want to get to know her… The next page will get deeper into this new episode’s plot, and we’ll see again a character from the previous episode you probably weren’t expecting to see again !! I let you theorize on who he is !

February 26th,  2010 | HOW TO APOLOGIZE

OK, forget what I said in the previous post, a month without updating is pretty uncool of me, so sorry about that, even though I had numerous reasons !! Anyway, I’m not making any more promise, but I’ll try not to do it again !

This page is pretty much a filler, to show that Will is not just your average red-head but can fight (if her punching Fedora didn’t convince you), what justifies what’s going to happen later in the episode… Stay tuned !

January 25th,  2010 | HOW NOT APOLOGIZE

It’s not that I’m not sorry, it’s that my Academics are obviously a priority and on this rocky beginning of a semester, I needed to focus on other things, so it would be weird to apologize for the late update, even if I wish it hadn’t happened… I’ll try to maintain the “two-pages-a-week” routine I settled last season, but if not, still expect to find at least a new page every week ! And to all of you who do, thanks for reading !!

Anyway, here’s a new page in which I changed the entire dialogue written in 2009, because it was mostly plain lame and unreadable. I’m kinda bummed by the fact that Will’s thoughts are cut at the end of the page because they need to be read as a whole, so when the next page comes up, you should re-read this one !

The scene is basically a transition I drew because Will didn’t appear enough in the episode in the very first version (and I like drawing her).

January 14th,  2010 | HOW TO GIVE THE READER IMPORTANT INFO WITHOUT A LINE OF DIALOGUE

Gotta love those tan lines !! I think it’s one of the best pages I’ve drawn in this comics, I actually love it, and always did since I made the sketches back in 2008. One of the rare all serious and kinda emotional pages in the comics so far, and I like how the colors made it out to be.
